CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle steady touch approach that releases tensions deep in the body, relieves pain and dysfunction, and improves whole body health. CranioSacral Therapy balances the CranioSacral system-the environment around the brain and spinal cord. This system directly affects the central nervous system function and indirectly addresses a wide range of sensory, motor, and neurological concerns.

CranioSacral Therapy can be especially powerful for children with developmental issues including autism spectrum disorders, sensory processing disorders, learning disabilities,A.D.D./A.D.H.D.,and other challenges. A child may become calmer or have an increased function in some skill. Effects are more noticeable after several treatments.

CranioSacral Therapy isn’t just for children. Many teens and adults benefit from CranioSacral Therapy. It has been proven effective in aiding neck and back pain, fibromyalgia, headaches, and more.

Typical sessions are approximately 1 hour.

Gentle Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic specifically addresses the structure and function of nerves, muscles, and joints that control posture and movement. In this respect, Chiropractic may be looked at from a sensory integrative approach. Dr. Holub uses an activator, a F.D.A.-registered hand held instrument, to adjust the spine. It is a gentle alternative to hand manipulation.

Myofascial Release

The use by hand of steady calming pressure to relax tight muscles and fascia. Dr. Holub uses myofascial release in conjunction with CranioSacral Therapy and chiropractic adjustments.

Sensory Integrative Exercises

Dr. Holub often includes sensory integrative exercises with CranioSacral Therapy to allow the child to further relax and to become comfortable with the environment. These exercise focus on vestibular, proprioceptive, visual-motor, or tactile inputs.
